National Duolian ”frosted duco” -35 #05994, beg. (Stockholm)

The Duolian from legendary US company National was at the time an affordable version of the resonator guitar, and during the roaring 30´s many of these were finished with a ”Frosted Duco” finish that has a pattern that sometimes looks like butterflies and flowers, caused by the addition of a chemical (naphtaline) in the nitro cellulose finish, the f-holes with rolled edges were introduced in 1933 and the serial number puts this in with the last 200pc of the coveted 12-fret version ever made (5994 of 6123), National used steel bodies in the Duolians, 12th fret neck to body which makes the guitar body a bit longer and to our ears a bit more volume and sustain, including a modern Hiscox flightcase, the fingerboard has been replaced and has brand new frets and ivoroid dots, the neck has been reset for correct neck angle, correct old cone, condition 6,5/10
