A midi keyboard acts as a kind of remote control for your music editing software, and you can use it to play all the sounds you have available through your music editing software (Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, Propellerhead, Ableton, etc.) when composing and recording music on your PC or MAC. The N49 is equipped with a keyboard consisting of 49 plastic keys in the same size as normal keyboard or piano keys. The keyboard is with both semi-weighted and touch-sensitive keys, so you will experience a good playing comfort and have the opportunity to give your music expression and dynamics. In addition, the keys are designed with a surface reminiscent of old ebony and wood keys, making them pleasant and comfortable to play. The user interface The user interface of Donner's N49 is incredibly simple, and you can quickly grasp all the useful functions and overview via the large display. On the back of the N49, you'll find a 5-pin midi out port, a USB-B port and a jack output for a sustain pedal (not included). On the front is a joystick that controls pitch bend and modulation, and you have the option of changing pitch via plus/minus buttons or changing octaves via two other plus/minus buttons. In addition, you have direct access to a sequencer and an arpeggiator, both of which repeat a series of notes that you can pitch up or down, change the octave, or change the tone sequence using a Latch button. Plus, you have a Chord button, which allows you to play entire chords with just one key.
